  • Finger foods

So my son is getting baptized on Sunday. I am going to offer some refreshments following the baptism. People will be mighty hungry since the baptism is right after church. In addition to some cookies, I'd like to do some finger foods as it will be around lunch time. Appetizers are not my specialty. Any easy crowd-pleasers you can suggest?
What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

There is a family in our stake that owns a catering company. On the Saturday for youth baptisms, they always show up and do taco truck stuff...asada, corn tortillas, horchata, etc.

Youth baptisms are usually well attended.
    Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Bacon wrapped scallops are easy and delicious.

What time is church/the baptism? If the food is at the church, I'm guessing you'll want something that can just be set out, instead of doing any prep work immediately preceding serving.

        A couple of things:

little biscuits with a piece of pork tenderloin
        fruit with fruit dip
little pb sandwich quarters (for little kids)
cheese straws (cut frozen puff pastry into strips, brush with butter and parmesan and bake)
        chips and salsa/guacamole
frozen pizzas (like the thin-crust Freschetta pizzas) cut into small squares (this would take some advance work but would be easy)

The baptism is following church, so like 1:15 p.m. The food needs to be something I can just set out before the baptism. Little PB&Js would be good. I think chips and salsa would be good.

Along those lines, I'd suggest bacon wrapped bacon.
