I recommend the dutch oven pot roast. Also, pretty much all of their desserts are delicious.
I'm putting that one on the list.
Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

I would say it's really moist. Duck is usually a lot more fatty than chicken. I'm not really sure how to explain it other than more moist, it almost melts in your mouth. Sorry I wouldn't be the best food critic. Not very good at explaining it.
Duck is fabulous. And nobody does duck like the French. Except maybe the good folks in Beijing.

A veteran's tip: they don't have endless quantities of their menu items, and the best ones will go fast (especially their nightly specials); it's not a bad idea to get there at about 6:00 to preempt the dinner crowd, so to speak.

Here's a link to their website. On weekends, they usually have one or two items that aren't regularly on the menu (pot roast is one, IIRC).

One of the best duck dishes I have had was in Houston of all places. Mark's, right on Westheimer. We met Mark Cox one night while dining there and he explained to us that whenever Emeril was dining in, he would always order the duck. I decided to kick it up a notch...if it were good enough for Emeril, it is good enough for me. Turns out that Emeril was right.

Seriously one of the crown jewels of Houston. Or at least it used to be. If you're ever down in Texas.....

I would be interested to hear from nik whether this place has stood the test of time. I haven't been in Houston for 4 years now.

Fix that. We've got all this internet, but no where to go.

Edit: Haha! Just snuck it in!

This doesn't really do it justice, but duck is kind of like having a chicken breast made out of dark meat. It is similar to chicken, but a little moister (and fattier), darker, richer, and more flavorful. It also can absorb other flavors better, I think. I prefer duck to chicken, but if you hate dark meat chicken, you might not like duck as much.

Thanks. I don't mind dark meat chicken. I guess that means I might have to have duck sometime.

This is going to sound dumb, but depends on how you get it. Duck seared rare tastes quite different from duck confit or some type of Asian preparation (like in a curry or roasted). They're all good, though. Duck is one of my favorite things.

There are loads of places to try out there.

One example.....this past weekend I was running errands for my MIL to help get ready for my SIL's wedding Sat night. My MIL sent me off to Lehi Bakery (I think that is what it is called) to pick up a few hundreds rolls that she had ordered. It smelled so good in there that after I dropped off the rolls, I bundled up the Puffy CHeck and we drove back to the bakery. We bought some apple fritters, some milk chugs, and sat outside on the curb and ate them. we even had the classic pink box action going on...the kind you get at a bakery. My son said, "dad, these are good! I want to eat here for dinner!"

I will bet you anything that he remembers that for years to come. That cost me about $8 and now we have a memory to last a long time.

                        Food is fun.
Lehi Bakery is pretty good, thanks for stopping by.

Why go out when (1) I can make food that's similar, if not better, at home
You must be a hell of a cook. I have honestly never had better food at home (anyone's home, not just mine) that is better than the food at good restaurants.

There's a good burger joint on Main in Lehi too. As you're driving up to Saratoga Springs. Good malts. Serves malt vinegar with fries, which was my first indication that it was a solid joint. Forgot the name, but I remember the location. I will eat there again.

Speaking of new places....has anyone tried that small Belgian Waffle shop downtown that's right next door to Caputo's and Carlucci's Bakery? It's where a small sushi shop used to be.
