  • Taco Tuesdays

Ever since I can remember, Tacos were the preferred meal on Tuesday night. It might not have happened every Tuesday but more often than not that was the meal of the night.

When I hitched up with Mrs McGuirk, I brought this tradition along with me and it morphed from Moms original lineup of ground beef with schillings taco seasoning, cheese, lettuce, green onions, corn tortillas fried into tacos and tostadas, sour cream and La Victoria's Red and Green taco sauces, into grilled chicken, carne asada, etc.

Tonight we decided to go back to the original moms lineup. We can talk about how it isn't real mexican food, but it was as good as I remembered as a kid and I loved every taco.

Can't you still get 3 tacos for a dollar on Tuesday night at Del Taco?

Sure they're not great, but 15 tacos for $5, isn't bad.

By the way, we still have tacos at home last night as well.... actually it was taco salad.

First wuap, eating taco salads at 1am, and now you beefytee, saying that 15 tacos for $5 isn't bad. When did this board get overrun with hippies who have the munchies?

I worked at Cottonwood last summer, and there's a Del Taco by the school. We wanted to do this real bad, but it didn't start until 4.

        I was really disappointed.

I've never been much of a connoisseur of fine dining. For me it has always been quantity over quality.

That said, my wife is an excellent cook and I am spoiled and don't deserve the good food.

Luckily contrary to my boardname, my metabolism has kept up and I am only at the borderline overweight according to BMI.

I grill cubed chicken breasts in green mole, then add spanish rice, green onion, and shredded sharp cheddar. I don't do CostCo but my friendly neighborhood grocer recently began stocking the uncooked tortillas that you imaginary friends have been raving about, and the end result is a fiesta in my stomach. Mmm!
