Jay asked Kanye West what his mother would have thought of last night's outburst at the MTV awards. His response:

"Yeah, you know, obviously, you know, I deal with hurt and, you know, so many, you know, celebrities, they never take the time off, and I've never taken the time off to really, you know, I just, music after music and tour after tour on tour, and I'm just ashamed that my hurt caused someone else's hurt. I was just in the wrong. That's clear.

"But I need to, after this, just to take some time off and analyze how I'm going to, you know, make it through rest of this life, how I'm going to improve," he said. "Because, I am a celebrity and that's something I have to deal with."

Michael Moore was on last night's episode. I've never been much of a fan of Moore, but was impressed with him last night. His documentary on capitalism looks interesting.

I have DVR'd the last 2 nights. Night one was pretty good, Jay is living right Kanye West is on the first night after he (Kanye) creates a huge story? I am wondering Leno and NBC were the ones that staged the VMA moment, not Taylor/Kanye/Beyonce's record labels.

Night 2 was okay, Jimmy Norton had his moments but is much better on radio. The 10 questions thing with Cruise and Diaz was awkward and not funny.

A good rule of thumb with live studio audience programming.....don't use Cameron Diaz. She ruins every sketch on SNL and she is awful on the talk show circuit.

All she does is giggle and laugh the entire time and trying to make jokes that just come off awkward. The mileage she has got out of the pushup bra and gold spaghetti strapped dress from The Mask is staggering.
