While I am not straying from my love of jazz as my favorite music, I have ventured back out into the world of rock music and have enjoyed it. I have tested the waters of Radiohead and enjoy anything that I have listened to of the, particularly Kid A and In Rainbows. I enjoy the first albums from the Killers.

I am now willing to give some more stuff a try and am looking for recommendations. I am looking at you Mark Grace, not the terrible baseball announcer, but the fine (both in posting quality and according to DDD looks) poster.

by maintaining your jazz roots and also venturing into quality rock music, you are now primed to become the most sophisticated music poster on the board. And I mean that seriously.

I would go back to the 90's and 2000's stuff. In high school I didn't listen to anything new and pretty much stuck to 70's rock. Although I wasn't even current when I officially renounced pop/rock, it was around '97 that I declared all pop/rock sucked and entered my jazz snob phase and required that all music have at least some jazz influence.

Ryan Adams - Heartbreaker. I promise if you listen to it at least 2 times straight through you will appreciate how gifted a musician and lyricist he is. This is an especially good album to listen to when you have pissed off Mrs. Funk and she isn't talking to you.
