For the past 20 years, when I wake up I sing this song to myself.

It's like a double entendre. I must do it 8/10 mornings. Probably more now. Curses.

I had the opening riff for "the Ocean" by Led Zeppelin in my head for about 7 or 8 years as my default.

Today however, I was lucky enough to have Atomic Dog in my head. Oddly enough my paralegal had Snoop Dogg's version of the same song in her head.

I found myself whistling Peter and the Wolf by Prokofiev this morning. I don't think I have heard that piece of music in over 20 years. Where do these things come from?

I don't even know all the words when I am wide awake but I can remember all the complexities of the music and the lyrics when I am drifting in sleep.

Its normal for me to wake up with a song in my head. This morning it was that stupid LA Real song, and a song written by a contestant on the X Factor. I don't even know all the words when I am wide awake but I can remember all the complexities of the music and the lyrics when I am drifting in sleep.

The whole sentiment of that video, the lyrics, the music, the people is so Victorian/19th Century, even Continental. It feels like some old New England alma mater song sung by Pre WWI young men looking for a cause to fight for crossbred with an Irish drinking song's inane but catchy lyrics. It also looks like a Teutonic/Anglo-Saxon hipster party that should be outside a Manchester or Dusseldorf Denny's at 2AM.

I have a guilty pleasure and that is to watch Youtube clips of Britain's Got Talent and the British X Factor. I also dig the Australian X Factor. I am embarrassed to admit this and swore Gidget to never tell anyone abut this. Anyway, Lucy Spraggan is great. She got a record deal from Columbia and released two of her originals including this one and Tea and Toast as singles.

I have had this song stuck in my head for the past couple of days after catching up on this last season of Britain's Got Talent:

I watch a lot of Britain's Got Talent and British X factor on youtube as well. I started out with Russia's Got Talent and Ukraine's Got Talent, watching with the boys to make sure they keep their russian and ukrainian language skills. Also all the kids in the orphanage used to watch Ukaine's Got Talent every night on their one television, so it helps them to remember where they came from.

NExt time you're watching youtube on the big screen, try watching Russia's Got Talent. Those russkies really have the best talent of all the countries. I bet China would be better, but I don't know if there is a China's Got Talent.

I'll check it out, but it's either hit or miss with people singing in English when it isn't their first language. That's why I generally stick to Britain and Australia.

BTW, if you haven't heard Lucy Spraggan's Tea and Toast you should YouTube it. It's a really sweet song. I love songs that tell stories and she is a good songwriter.

Oh, the program's entirely in Russian, but you dont really need to understand the words to know who really has talent and who doesnt. The only time I was curious was when this family of circus performers came on, and the boy (looked about 10) put a slab of cement on his head and the father took a sledgehammer to this slab. The judges immediately buzzed, but the father continued with a mighty whack to his son's head, and the cement slab broke into multiple pieces and fell harmlessly to the ground. The judges were very angry and started yelling at the father. My son translated: "The father broke the rules by continuing after the buzzer sounded, and the judges were concerned that the boys would be hurt."
