I rented and watched Doubt last night and thouroughly enjoyed it. If you enjoy actors that can absolutely fall into their characters you will surely appreciate the roles played by Phillip Seymor Hoffman and Meryl Streep, two of the greatest character actors of our day. Doubt's basis in a play gives it a very limited range of space, but that confinement works for the film, allowing the viewer to explore the themes of the movie in their own head without being distracted by constant motion of time and space. Granted, it's not for everyone, it's slow pace and sometimes ambiguous space will not appeal to all.
The movie explores doubt and certainty and their accompanying traits in a way that few films have addressed. Definitely worth picking up and mulling over a bit.
