The first few Myron books were great as was Tell No One.
Tell No One and The Woods were very entertaining Harlen Coben books, although they were sort of similar.

My favorites are Tell No One and Just One Look. I thought both of those were great mysteries.

            • I'm reading Capote's Breakfast At Tiffany's, the printing of which includes three short stories. Almost done. I've really come to like Capote. I don't think I would've enjoyed him as much when I was younger.

Just stared the Brothers Karamazov last night having finished Anna Karenina over the weekend. I loved Tolstoy so much that I was sorely tempted to start another book by him but I'll get back to him later. I don't think I have ever read anyone that better captures authentic internal dialog and conflict or shows the multiple facets of human beings as well.

Have you read his Agincourt yet? I really enjoyed it. The next Saxon Shore book is supposed to coming out around the first of the year.

I may be small, but I'm slow.

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to, "The United States of America ", for an amount of "up to and including my life - it's an honor."

                      • *Bump*

How in the world did I miss the latter half of this thread? This is absolutely priceless and NEEDS to be preserved for posterity's sake. I recommend beginning at about post #80, until the mid-100's when someone accidentally got the thread back on topic.

Oh, and there are some good book recommendations in the fist 75 or so posts as well. My Amazon queue was getting a little thin.

                        • Just finished Walter Kirn's Thumbsucker. Easy and pretty enjoyable, and featured a prominent Mormon-related storyline which was rather entertaining. Apparently Up In the Air has a little Mormon plot to it as well (haven't read it and I guess that bit wasn't included in the movie).

Anyway, read it in spurts while wading through No Man. Back to Ms. Brodie's discourse.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

                          • I'm reading this weird book about a couple of internet geeks who find themselves stranded on a virtual island. Then they find a virtual conch shell and use it to summon a bunch of other internet geeks. They all get together and enjoy their little island as a place free from the cares of the outside world. That's about as far as I've gotten, but I'm starting to get this kind of ominous feeling.

Darned if I can remember the name of the book, but I'll keep you posted as I read.

I think I've heard or read that story at some point. It sounds very familiar.
