    My High School Playlist

    I'm having a flashback day today, music wise. I fired up Rhapsody and started playing some of the songs me and my fellow idiots would listen to as we went from one kegger to another. Some of it still sounds pretty good, others, like Warrant, make me wonder what I was thinking.

      That is a great list, even if only for nostalgia's sake.

      A lot of those tunes are still solid.

      I remember back when I was in junior high....I thought Ozzy was the devil incarnate. It didn't get more "satanic" than Ozzy Osbourne's Diary of a Madman. Even the cover was awful. No way my mom was letting me own an Ozzy record, let alone wear an Ozzy t-shirt (even though I wasn't really into that kind of music at the time).

      Years later, music off Diary of a Madman would be used in car commercials to sell SUVs.

          Nice list.
          I still love Ozzy.

          my mom wasn't too pleased with my Kiss Destroyer album.
          She sort of tolerated the surly look for a while, then she paid me to give it to the neighbor boy.
          I intend to live forever.
          So far, so good.

              There isn't a song on that list that I didn't own the cassette/CD. What was your high school years? Mine were 89-91.

                  88-90.

                  Some of those bands, like Killer Dwarfs and Savatage, I discovered because I didn't send the card back to Columbia House in time, telling them not to send the Selection of the Month.

                      Nice. I still have some of the Killer Dwarfs stuff on my IPOD(I ripped off of my old CD's)

                              BMG was the better of the two. My CD collection was prodidgious because of them.

                                      BMG had the 8 for the price of one, with no further obligation. I signed my dad, mom, brothers, and myself up at the same time. I purposely had a different street number on each of the Memberships so they wouldn't think it was the same family. Because we lived in a small town, the mailman always got the stuff into our mailbox. I ended up with like 50 CD's for $35 when it was all said and done.

                                          I heard Paradise City at a bar last night. Such a great track. The whistle is a highly underused musical intstrument.

                                              There were a few guys in my mish that signed up for a new Columbia House membership every time they got to a new area. They would take the free CD's and be long gone before anyone could do anything. At one of the apts. I was in, we used to get Columbia House mail addressed to Mr. Almathe Younger. Pretty funny.

                                                      I'm a big Savatage fan. Criss Oliva did some brilliant work. Too bad he died so young.

                                                      I haven't heard of the Killer Dwarfs in 20 years or so. I hated them then and have no real interest in seeing if anything has changed in that regard.
