The ending of the third episode (broadcast during the second week of the show, they showed two episodes the first week) -- holy cow.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Terrific in the first 2 episodes, especially the detail of life aboard ship and the political realities of a naval officer appointment. So I looked it up on wikipedia, found out what happened IRL, and am not so enthused any more.
Best thing is this actor, who plays the Leader of the Belters in The Expanse. Because he spoke with a Belter patois, I never knew he was a Brit and spoke with a brit accent.

I doubt it. Entirely different kinds of shows. The subject matter really intrigues me. I have read lots of books about voyages of discovery, including the shackleford expedition. Production values seem good. But the supernatural elements are kind of ruining it for me. I want to like it! I will hang in a few more episodes.
