    I have 2 new books to read...

    When my wife comes home from vacation next week she is bringing 2 books for me to read. One is a book I wanted her to pick up, and one is a book on polygamy that she picked up. (In her long list of books on polygamy)

    Polygamy book:

    The 19th wife

    My book:

    Tears in the Darkness: The story of the Bataan Death March and its aftermath.

    I am itching to get at this book. It isn't the first one to be written on the topic obviously, but it is the first one that takes the US Soldier POV and the Japanese Soldier POV. Should be fascinating.

                      Ghost Soldiers by Hampton Sides has a pretty detailed history of the Bataan Death March and the subsequent POW camps.

                      Sides is an excellent writer. Highly recommended.

                      BTW: There was a movie based on this book 2-3 years ago, but it was pretty crappy. Don't let the movie dissuade you from the book.

                                  I'm about 80 pages in to the Bataan one. So far, very good.
