This is good to hear. I was excited about this show, watched the first two episodes and thought it was lame.

It used to be the Teri Hatcher-Jennifer Connelly index, now it's the Teri Hatcher-Alexandra Daddorio index. That's how impressed I was by her performance in True Detective.

Emily Mortimer's boobs are a solid 8. Eva Green's are a 9. Jamie Lee Curtis and Jennifer Connelly are both 9.5 (Connelly is all around hotter, so the index used to be named after her). It's obvious who owns the 10s.

      Here's a few other ratings:

      Lizzy Caplan: 7.5

      Appalonia Corleone: 4

      Phoebe Cates: 6

Demi Moore in Blame it On Rio: 3

      Demi Moore in Striptease: 2

Michelle Johnston in Blame it On Rio: 9

Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I stumbled upon a new show called "Impractical Jokers" on TruTV. Four friends compete to humiliate one another pulling public practical jokes. My sense of humor is a little juvenile, but it's been a good long time since I've laughed so hard. A lot of their past episodes are on YouTube.

By new you mean new to you, right? That show has been on tv for a few years now and has already jumped the shark.

Anybody watching "Garfunkel & Oates" on IFC? I've been a Kate Micucci fan since she was Ted's love interest on Scrubs, but I have to admit I'm not in love with the show. It's good for some chuckles, but there aren't nearly as many LOL moments as I had hoped.

I assumed all they did was sing songs. Is this the poorly executed Flight of the Concords?

Pretty much. FTR, nothing they sing on the show is as funny or as clever as The Loophole, but nothing is as blatantly profane/obscene as that, either. I won't link that here. The curious can google.

Is anyone watching any of the new shows that came out? We were watching "How to get away with Murder" for a couple episodes and got bored with it. Same with Gotham.

I've thought of starting that Scorpion show. Is anyone watching that?

We watched the whole season of How to Get Away With Murder. It was OK. I think we watched less than half an episode of Gotham before the Mrs. decided she wasn't interested.

They played Festival Supreme last year. A couple of their songs are chuckleworthy, but pretty mbleh for the most part.

Broadchurch was really, really good and the good news is that Fox's version looks like it has an excellent cast -- David Tennant, the male lead on the British Broadchurch and more well known as one of the recent Doctor Whos, will be reprising his role in the American version. Anna Gunn, aka Skyler White, is the female lead. Nick Nolte is one of the main supporting characters.
I stumbled across Broadchurch and was hooked immediately. After watching 4 episodes I pulled my wife and daughter in and re-watched with them, all the way through the 8 episodes of the the first season. If you like whodunits and the high quality of BBC dramas, I highly recommend this one. Apparently it became quite the rage in Great Britain. Trailer for Season 1:

Be careful of spoilers -- pay attention to Season 1 before you get into Season 2, which begins on BBC America in March.

I watched a few episodes of the American version (Gracepoint) before I found the BBC version, which I think is vastly superior. For one think, it's clear the BBC series has a much bigger production budget, and although Tennant is good in both, the acting overall is vastly superior in the Beeb's show. I stopped watching Gracepoint.

Jane the Virgin: I am surprised how much I have enjoyed this show. The twists and turns of a telenovela with the interchanging of english and spanish has made it enjoyable. The plot is pretty good too.. I give this show a A.

Scorpion: My wife and I enjoy this show. It is OK. I have a feeling if I tried to look at things in a realistic manner it would bug me more, but I shut off and just enjoy the ride. C+

Broadchurch has been pretty good so far (5 eps in) but the heavy overuse of background music is really, really off putting. Super over the top.
