Hmm toss out anything remotely feminine. Toss out anything artsy.

You've had to have seen LOTR right? If not that's a no Brainer.

    I'm going with...
    Shawshank Redemption
    Gran Torino
    Black Hawk Down

But I can't remember if any of these might have "liberal agenda". That would ruin it for sure. Probably safest going with a Mel Gibson war movie.

It's not much as liberal agenda - though I'll admit that I don't like those - as it is hard left liberal asshole actors. I've seen Black Hawk Down, but wasn't too impressed. Haven't seen the others, but I'm pretty sure I'd like Eastwood's film.

And I have seen the 1st of the LOTR films, but not the others. I've been told that the first was the best of the three. Any truth to that?

I think Il Pad would like Expendables, I didn't see #2 though.

Great movies IPU would hate. Otherwise known as my Top 10 list.

            Fight Club
Pulp Fiction and probably anything Tarantino
            anything PT Anderson
            American Beauty
            Mullholland Drive
            Eternal Sunshine
            Adaptation

On my list that have a chance IPU might like
            Fargo
            Gangs of NY

I second Gran Torino for IPU.

Of those on this list, I've seen American Beauty and Eternal Sunshine and wanted to kill myself before the halfway point. But I did like Fargo.

Here are a couple of suggestions:

V for Vendetta - An anti-government film, but blurs the lines of terrorism which might not be palatable for you.
Good Bye Lenin - An East German Communist mother goes into a comma shortly before the Berlin Wall falls and wakes up after reunification. Good film.
Atlas Shrugged Parts I and II - ok-ish films based on the novel
The Castle - If you can find it. Its an Australian movie about a man fighting for his right to keep his private property.

A tragically under-appreciated film. Eric Bana's few lines are fantastic.

Passion of the Christ. It's a movie about the crucifixion of Jesus.
