I read Pat Frank's Alas, Babylon once every few years.

A great read! I was on a submarine in the middle Atlantic in the early eighties when I read that the first time. I think I need to make sure it is in my Kindle library now.

I love Kipling's short stories. The short story is probably my favorite form. The Gardener by Kipling is one of my favorite stories. I read it often and have used it in a sacrament talk once.

Other short stories that I love are The Yellow Wallpaper, The Lottery and pretty much all of the short stories by Hemingway, Faulkner, Twain and Flannery O'Connor (my favorite author after Harper Lee).

I admit to not having read much of O Henry. I think maybe just The Gift of the Magi that I can recall.

A Tale of Two Cities is a masterpiece.

Grapes of Wrath was depressing BS when I read it in 11th grade. Maybe I need to give it another try.
