  • Inside Combat Rescue (NatGeo Channel)

    Not sure if any of you have been watching this show but I recommend it. It follows the Airforce Pararescueman based in Kandahar, Afgh. It follows them as they go out to resuce soldiers, Afghn civillians, etc. The risks they take each time and the things they do to save a life.

    Spoiler for Last Night's Episode::
    It follows one PJ who just was deployed and is sent in to rescue a boy who had been shot in the head. The whole episode was intense and left me wondering if somethign was going to happen to him. Gratefully nothing happened to him but the toll and feeling of this young father of rescuing the 12 year old boy and unsure if he saved his life or made any mistakes.. In the end while being intereviewed he is able to be told the boy survived and made a full recovery. The overwhelming feeling of peace and relief this PJ felt was beyond touching... The tears of joy that he saved this boy was a wonderful way to end an episode..

    Not all episodes end like this but it was one I enjoyed and shows how much the care..

    I am also very aware of the recent Helicopter that just went down in Kandahar and toughts lead me to wonder if these were PJ's.. Brings the war more real instead of being in some faraway land..
