  • 12-12-12 Concert

That was the best concert I've heard on TV.

The Boss is in great shape. He played Born to Run like he loves it.

Bon Jovi is now a lock for the Hall of Fame. Jon was hitting notes he usually saves for the studio.

The Who was energetic and spot on. Those guys have still got it.

Alicia Keys was elegant and a nice change of pace.

Eric Clapton played like the Stratomaster he is.

Roger Waters had his act together.

Sir Paul can still sound like the old days on certain songs.

The only disappointment was the Rolling Stones. Keith Richards really is too old for this stuff now. It's sad, but it's time for him to hang it up.

    Damn. What a show.

Were they raising money to make Medicare solvent?

They should have been raising money for Social Security. As Jagger said, there was quite a collection of old, English musicians.

I have seen Bon Jovi twice live. They are very impressive. Jon has really changed the way he sings to preserve his pipes. If he was still performing Livin' on a Prayer like he originally recorded it, his voice would be trashed by now.

            Agreed.

Bon Jovi has come a long way from the hair metal days of the 80s. It's not like The Boss is going to join Poison on stage for "Look What the Cat Dragged In."

The singer who most amazes me for being able to still blast it is Sammy Hagar with his Chickenfoot albums. How he does that while in his 60s is astounding.

I like Hagar. Some of his old stuff is cheesy, but the guy can belt it. He's a good guitar player too.

The only thing I saw was The Rolling Stones and they were awful so I changed the channel. I guess prematurely from the sounds of it.

I didn't watch it. However I was interested in a former rockstar friend of mine who though Kanye was out of place.
