    Duck Dynasty

Does anyone watch this show? I caught a couple of episodes last night, and I was laughing a lot. The dad invented a duck call decades ago, and they've turned it into a big deal called Duck Commander.

While some of the things seem like setups, these are decent people who are kind to others.

That's kind of the feeling I got from watching it. It seems a little contrived, but they are good folks, and the old man is funny. Interesting fact: He played QB for Louisiana Tech, but gave it up due to conflicts with the duck hunting season. His departure left the spot open for the backup, Terry Bradshaw.

Best show on TV. I don't care if it is scripted. They have some funny writers and these guys deliver the lines. I laugh my ass off whenever I watch it.

I tried to watch when it was first on, couldn't get into it at all. Feels like it was trying way to hard.

Uncle Si might be the best character on television.

The episode a couple weeks back where they break the samurai sword and head to the pawn shop was one of the funniest thirty minutes of television.

Feeling puny, so I dvr'd 12 episodes, and have watched 8 of them.

If you're OK with it being scripted, and think of The Office, they're not too much different, other than DD is real people in a real business. SI is a natural. The show is 100% real people, in a 100% scripted show, and 100% funny if you get the audacity with which they pull it off. If you can balance the two in your head, it'll work for you.

Watched a few last night.. The Christmas Lights one was enjoyable, and the one where they are looking for a truck for his kid was pretty good..

They main be rich and their house shows it, but they drive in a bunch of old pick-up trucks that look beat to hell (At least Si's did)..

Made me chuckle the places they went looking for a car, and how the Dad gave in to his wife so easily...

Morrissey canceled an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel after learning the cast of Duck Dynasty was going to be appearing on the same show. LOL. That dude is so melancholy.

This show is at least 75% scripted, but still very entertaining. Si and Jase are two of the best characters on TV right now.

I agree. Scripted or not, those are some damn talented writers. And I am not sure what they say is scripted. I am sure they set up the scene and let those guys ad-lib. Jase and Si crack me up. Over the weekend they had several episodes on and I saw the one where Si and Phil go to career day at the school and Si starts talking about Nam and Phil plucks and guts a duck. Holy crap I haven't laughed that hard in awhile.

I think my favorite episode is when Phil takes his grandson and his date fishing. He tells them if they have sex to be prepared for STDs. Then he says "Instead of being happy, happy, happy you will be crabby, crabby, crabby" I have not laughed that hard in a long time.
