Farrelly Brothers are remaking the Three Stooges.........
Sean Penn as Larry
Jim Carrey as Curly
Benicio Del Toro as Moe
Sean Penn can combine the roles he played in "I Am Sam" and "Fast Times At Ridgemont High" and be a perfect Larry.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
While Penn is certainly a stooge, the two Howards and Fine were only acting.
"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill
"I only know what I hear on the news." - Dear Leader
I would love to see this work, but am pretty sure it won't, for the same reason that a few versions of the Stooges didn't work, you just can't imitate or replace Curly Howard.

This is one of the eternal verities. Shemp, Curley Joe Besser... both failures.
Another eternal truth is that the population of Stooges fans is approximately 94% male. I was always aware of this, as my otherwise enlightened female companions invariably failed to see what was funny about the two-fingered eye gouge, the sound when Moe knocks Larry's and Curly's heads together, or superb dialogue, like "Why, I oughta moida da both a' ya!" My demographic calculation was based in part on the attendance at a Three Stooges Film Festival in a huge theater in Berkeley several years ago. It sold out, and among the 2,000 or so attendees there were no more than 100 women.
