I would be happy with this, and this alone.Originally posted by camleish View Postfreddie mercury/queen
One day in heaven we will all sit at the feet of the mustachioed one. And we will hear him sing. And it will be very good.
I'd be nice to have Rachmaninoff back too.I intend to live forever.
So far, so good.

If we are going to include classical composers as some have, how could you leave out Mozart
died young, relatively popular at his prime and continues to be popular (with the classical music listeners) to this day.
As for pop/rock musicians my list would include:
Jim Croce,
Jim Morrison,
Jimi Hendrix
Freddie Mercury
Hank Williams Sr
Patsy Cline

Maybe we don't need to pine over Freddie Mercury. Close your eyes and see if you can tell the difference:

There's still hope. My college student son had both a Beatles phase and a Led Zeppelin phase. I was in High School when Zeppelin was still together but did not appreciate their music. So my son discovered them on his own, somewhat to my dismay. But I found that I appreciated Zeppelin on the second go-'round.Originally posted by wuapinmon View PostNot as answer to what you're talking about, but as a tangential observation, I was talking with my freshman college experience class recently, and none of them had had a Zeppelin, Doors, Pink Floyd, or Beatles phase in high school. He doesn't have nearly the vocal power that Freddie had, let alone the ability to write songs and perform them.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostMaybe we don't need to pine over Freddie Mercury. Close your eyes and see if you can tell the difference:

He's does have a tone similar to Freddie's, and he does hit the notes, but Freddie he's not.Last edited by Sleeping in EQ; 10-13-2011, 01:42 PM.We all trust our own unorthodoxies.
