I've been listening to episodes of Bonanas for Bonanza lately. Andy Daly is really damn funny. I love the Dalton Wilcox character. He makes a good team with Matt Gourley and Maria Bamford.

It does get a little repetitive.

Al Franken's podcast is a pleasant listen. And that's one you think would be over the top partisan but is pretty frustratingly even-handed. I really like Franken.

Last week's This American Life is a rerun from a few years ago, and I vaguely remember one story. No matter, most of it was new to me, and I found it moving. Three stories, one funny, one sobering, and one very touching. It comes with my highest recommendation:

It was an interesting read.
    I think you'll like it.

Oh, I forgot, the podcast really starts with Waco, with a little lead in from the old KKK.

    1. Long Shadow - Rise of the American Far Right. This podcast starts at the end of the KKK and the Civil Rights movement and traces the remains of the white supremacy movement through the militia movement of the 80s and 90s, to Timothy McVeigh, to the rancher rebellions (e.g., the Bundys and others), to the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, to the rise of Donald Trump and finally Jan. 6. Really interesting to see the thread that connects them all.

    2. Case 63. A short, science fiction podcast with voice acting by Julianne Moore and Oscar Isaac. The premise is that Oscar Isaac is a new patient in a state mental facility and Julianne Moore is his psychiatrist. Isaac claims to be from 40 years in the future, sent back to stop patient zero from spreading a covid variant that ends up destroying the world's societies in just a few short years. While that may not seem very interesting or new, the story twists and turns in ways you probably won't predict. Episodes are around 10 minutes, and there are only 10. It moves very fast and is very bingeable. The voice acting is superb.

To its detriment as far as my listening habits are concerned.

Jason Bateman is great and hilarious, but what makes him great is his skill as a straight man. Not sure how you could really translate to a podcast format.
That's exactly what it is. Will Arnett is the 'joker' and Sean Hayes is probably the least contributing, but is generally the punching bag of the three.

Always Sunny Pod has gotten better with greater involvement of Megan Ganz.

I've started listening to Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend and am really enjoying it. Listening to the 2 episodes with Paul Rudd on it just further confirms that Paul Rudd is a national treasure.
