I thought she started out ok, but she clearly embraced a pro-Adnan approach (though she wouldn't ever admit it) as the podcast progressed. I can only imagine how ridiculous listening to Rabia must be.

I entered the Serial game way late so I wasn't reading forums or articles about it during the broadcast and didn't suffer from fatigue.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostI chose not to even listen to it. The story was "meh" enough when it was being told from a mostly objective standpoint. I can only imagine how unlisentable it must be from a "free Adnan" perspective.
After these couple episodes of Rabia and the other lady openly dismiss logic and bash the victim I may be over ever hearing the name Adnan. May he burn in hell for his crimes.

Are they trying to say Jay had nothing to do with the cover up of the murder and was coached the entire time?
A few taps and rustling of papers is the evidence?
Also now it's irrefutable that Adnan was at track practice?
I loved the teaser ending, was Jay talking to the cops the entire time? Did he really lead them to Hae's car?

This American Life's last week's podcast is a somewhat depressing, yet eye-opening discussion about how strong cultural factors are in education. It's very interesting hearing smart people in their own words describe why they chose not to take advantage of scholarships that they earned:

Radiolab's 'Football' episode.
Did you know Pop Warner was the original Bill Belichick? Interesting half on the early history of football.

Give "How to become Batman" a whirl. I thought it was pretty interesting.

Yup, me too. I think Radiolab is the best out there, so I'm still a little curious, but the single episode they featured just kept me wishing I was listening to the Radiolab guys instead.Originally posted by Clark Addison View PostI was not a big fan of the Invisibilia episode that was hosted on Radiolab a few weeks back. Based on it, I declined to give it a try. "I think this one will get better with time" isn't exactly a ringing endorsement, either, so I think I will still refrain
If a month or two down the road you are still on board, let us know, and maybe I will give it another shot.

It's borrows heavily from Radiolab's pattern, and the hosts can be a tad annoying. But the first couple of episodes cover really interesting material. "The secret history of thoughts" and "How to become Batman" are quite good. I think this one will get better with time.

I'll give you the voices complaint. And they are annoying sometimes.Originally posted by fusnik View PostBoth.
Their voices are indistinguishable and their stories while compelling were incomplete.
The fear episode started awesome with the grown kids and the next thing you know we are listening to some crack pot hypothesis about snakes.
I didn't listen to the fear episode. But I did enjoy the others. I'm giving them a chance.
