    So they're making a prequel/sequel to Blade Runner

    I can't see how a prequel/sequel to Blade Runner won't be either a disaster or a letdown.

    As we saw with the new Star Wars movies, having CGI and not having Harrison Ford ruins additions to these sci-fi classics. It seems like the availability of all these CGI toys detracts the filmmakers from the story itself. Besides, Blade Runner's special effects still hold up extremely well today and I'd hate to see someone try to alter them dramatically in some new film.

    Ridley Scott is signed onto the project, but I don't think 2010s Scott is as good as late 70s-early 80s Scott.
    Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

      It will suck because Ridley Scott has lost his mojo. Harrison Ford has also lost his mojo, so even if he signs on, that will not help.

          The nice thing is that Ridley Scott signs on to so many damn projects that it drastically reduces the possibility that this will ever actually get made.
          Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

              Nobody plots like PKD so I wonder who will write the thing.

              And Rutger Hauer's extemporaneous speech right before he gets offed will be difficult to match.
