They're trying to destroy the universe. Follow me here:

Remakes are always more cheesy than the original.

Footloose is the cheesiest movie ever (the dance scene in the Lehi Roller Mills is what secures the title).

The combination of cheesy remake of the cheesiest movie ever will lead to a complete disruption of time and space, and hence destruction of the universe.
If we disagree on something, it's because you're wrong.

I hope Kevin Bacon is in it!

You could be right. It's slated for release in October. Isn't that when the rapture was postponed to?

I'm consistently opposed to these 80s remakes, but if they do remake it, they had better not mess with the greatest line in the whole movie:

It seems like every 2-3 years some local high school or community college does Footloose (the musical)... In fact, our son played the drums for one of these productions. Youtube is full of this crap:

"Bomont? Where the heck is Bomont?" (I am guessing this is a baptist sponsored private college.)

BTW, where the hell is Bomont?

I thought that was Beaumont. There is a Bomont, WV.

It does exist on facebook, however.

I just hope they keep the tractor chicken scene. Damn, that was intense.
