  • What are your favorite comedy movies

Caddyshack, Animal House, Dumb and Dumber and Talladega Nights are the four movies I can watch over and over and they still make me laugh.

Favorite: Life of Brian. It reminds me of this forum sometimes.

Brian: "I am NOT the Messiah!"
Arthur: "I say you are the Messiah, and I should know, because I've followed a few!"

Stan: It's every man's right to have babies if he wants them.
Reg: But you can't have babies.
              Stan: Don't you oppress me.
Reg: Where's the fetus going to gestate? You going to keep it in a box?

Honorable Mention: Idiocracy. Despite being poorly directed, shot, and having bad acting all around, it is a funny concept and the writing is acceptably good.

It also contains some incisive social commentary.

-Everybody speaks in a pidgin street slang. People who speak any language approaching The King's English are called "fags" and are derided for "talking faggy..."

-The President of the US is a "Pr0n superstar and 5-time smackdown champion...".

-The FDA and the FCC were purchased by an energy drink manufacturer, who then had their product mandated for use on crops, in drinking fountains, etc, and determined that water is solely for use in toilets.

-The most popular show on TV is called, "Ow, My Balls!". People randomly kick the main actor in the balls...

              - Starbuck's specializes in hand jobs. (This is particularly funny, as several of the coffee stands nearby advertise their baristas wear "Pasties 7 Days a Week!" - perhaps we aren't too far off)

              etc.

Also keeping with the Mike Judge theme, Office Space.

Agree on Idiocracy. Wish it had been better done but the concept was funny. And frightening.

Just an ordinary schmo from today is transported into the future and within a week is acknowleged as the smartest man on earth.

There are very few comedies I like much after the first time, but first time around...Naked Gun, Major League, Blues Brothers, Blazing Saddles, Natl Lampoon's Vacation, Starsky and Hutch and Fletch are some that come to mind.
                    I'm like LeBron James.

                      I'll mention some oldies -

                      Bringing Up Baby
                      Arsenic and Old Lace
Its a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World ( I can never remember how many Mads there should be)
any Chaplin flim you care to mention

I may be small, but I'm slow.

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to, "The United States of America ", for an amount of "up to and including my life - it's an honor."
