I watched this last night and really liked it. Better than Juno, at least, which got a lot more pub. Lots of good music, although I think I recognized exactly one song from the whole movie--I'm embarrassingly old and out-of-touch. Also, I just think Michael Cera is hilarious. He definitely has mastered the awkward, quirky, but sort of charming teen role.

My friend we have to agree to disagree. I couldn't get past the fact that these kids had no curfew. What kind of parents let their HS kids roam NYC until morning? The romantic climax of the movie did get a laugh out of me. The poor teenage girl had never had an orgasm until she was manually stimulated by her playlist soulmate in her dad's recording studio. Ah, young love.

That's pretty funny. The manual stimulation totally went over my head (and my wife's)--when they stood up, we were wondering how she got dressed so quickly. I also wondered how she's going to explain that track to her father.Originally posted by YOhio View PostMy friend we have to agree to disagree. The total lack of curfew had me wondering too, although I just figured that maybe these guys all hung out together because they had absentee parents who let them.
I mostly liked the movie for Michael Cera and the music. At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

that's my point. I was pretty underwhelmed by Juno, although it seemed to get more critical attention. This movie reminds me of it somewhat, but is better.Originally posted by Flystripper View Postbetter than Juno? I really liked this movie. I didn't notice horns or diseases on any of the homosexuals, though.

I watched that movie with my wife on Sunday night, it totally sucked balls. The funniest part of the movie was when his two band mates picked up the random dude to be in their band and Michael Cera deadpanned "He's creepy, I don't like him" with the guy right there.Originally posted by ERCougar View PostI watched this last night and really liked it. The movie didn't make much sense to me. Why exactly did the girl like Cera and vice-versa? They seemed to be bitchy with each other the whole night and had zero chemistry. The hook-up was totally implausible.
I did like the band names they were coming up with. I just wish they had included my selections from a prior post: The Astirds, the Cankles, Wally and the Beavers.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Remember that Norah is acquainted with Triss, and is picking up all of these mixes he makes for her. That's the root of the chemistry. And they're both dealing with past relationships throughout the course of the night, and the big payoff is when they leave the concert (and subsequently the two people that were holding each of them back).Originally posted by Color Me Badd Fan View PostThe movie didn't make much sense to me. I watched this tonight and got a laugh at out of it. I thought the gay posse was amusing, if a bit overwrought. The movie was full of awkward moments that Michael Cera pulls off so fabulously and it was a silly, cute story about stupid kids and good music.
It was an enjoyable Saturday night fluff fest."You know, I was looking at your shirt and your scarf and I was thinking that if you had leaned over, I could have seen everything." ~Trial Ad Judge
