Sinatra's "Songs for Swingin' Lovers" (seriously, it's very cool)
      Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On"
      The Four Tops' "Reach Out"
      Jimi Hendrix's "Are You Experienced?"
And Side 1 of the Doors' "The Doors"
The Doors, The Doors was on my list. I dropped it off at the last moment to add something newer, but I'm a big fan.

        James Brown-In the Jungle Groove

The Who-Live at the Isle of Wight

        Flaming Lips-Soft Bulletin

        Ween-God/Ween/Satan: The Oneness

        Urge Overkill-Saturation

        Pantera-Vulgar Display of Power

        Prince-Purple Rain

        Deep Purple-Machine Head

Public Enemy-Fear of a Black Planet

        Nirvana-In Utero

I excluded things that had already been named, but the only switch I'd probably make is putting Yoshimi in instead of Soft Bulletin.

              Awww, man...how could I forget Paul's Boutique?

They sampled the Beatles AND Johnny Cash!

Well I decided to omit the Beatles because I couldn't decide which album to go with -- it seemed roughly akin to trying to choose a favorite child.

                In (rough) chronological order:

                Buddy Holly, Buddy Holly
                Patsy Cline, Patsy Cline Showcase
                Simon and Garfunkel, PSR&T
CCR, Willy and the Poor Boys
Jim Croce, You Don't Mess around with Jim
                Billy Joel, Stranger
                Bon Jovi Slippery When Wet
                Whitney Houston Whitney
                U2 Joshua Tree
                Garth Brooks, No Fences

Surprising list Babs. I would have expected a little more 80's pop.

VDOP always reminds me of the MTC when I would secretly listen to Pantera on my walkman at night. Throwing the tape away at the airport was a symbolic moment for me, though I was pissed at myself during the flight for chucking it in SLC.
