This is what I used to think, too. But the last couple of years I've come to think that Dolly expresses the heartbreak in her own way and that the song has its own appeal. I'm not really a Dolly fan, so it's hard for me to get into it, but I can see its merit.

Babs, babs, babs. nothing is 10,000 times better than Bruce. Really. Nothing.

I would have liked to have been in the room when they decided it was a good idea to cover this song. I really can't imagine the thought process it would have taken to believe this was going to work.

The whole thing was a bit of a romp.

Man some of these are so horrible it is time to bring out the big guns. Here is what I think is considered one of the worst covers ever, especially given the apparently sincere introduction by the lyricist.

Yikes. I think he took a few too many hits on the self-image bong.

Keeping with the "what in the name of epsilon IV are they thinking" theme, there is this little beauty which may not technically be a cover, but still deserves its own shelf in the hall of musical opprobrium. This video also shows that he really didn't need all that much latex for the ear prosthetics. Who knew?

This may make you throw up in your mouth just a little.

If artist wants to cover Neil Young then I say fine, go cover any song from "Everybody's Rockin'" because that was crap but please leave every thing else alone.

Jeez that was, well, slow. They could have at least awakened him before he started singing.

Very few covers are so awful that they make you angry. This one by Tiffany accomplishes that.

What makes this one even worse is that is actually became a Top 10 song.

The song is in Shrek (all over the place actually), but I'm not sure where I have heard the Buckley version... except in "The OC".

Buckley really does own that song.

This one, if only for the video:

This one, if only because I loved the original back in HS:

And here is a way out there type of cover. Definitely his style makes me laugh:

This is one of the more ballsy covers I've heard. I'm not sure just anybody can cover Michael and make it work, but Chris Cornell does an excellent job with his cover of Billie Jean:

These are two Black Sabbath covers I'm ambivalent about (I mean, they're completely different from the originals, but I absolutely adore The Cardigans):

Also, I can't help but post Metallica here

I know people that are pissed with the Dylan cover, but I was familiar with the Metallica version long before I heard the original, so I like it.
