So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

    • Very few songs can be clearly identified as the line of demarcation between one era and another...and not just a demarcation between one decade and another, but an entire genre of music, fashion, attitude, etc. Basically, that song changed everything. Very few songs have done that. It shouldn't be covered, esp by her. It sounded fine but also sounded completely meaningless at the same time.

I completely agree and I am not even a huge Nirvana fan. I still remember where I was the first time I heard that song.

The very best part of that cover is Miley's Elaine Benes-style dancing, which I take it is supposed to be a form of headbanging gone wrong (?). Several times I expected her to lose her balance and eat it.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

She is way too young to appreciate the significance of that cultural shift. I will say the remakes by Paul Anka and The Moog Cookbook are pretty damn awesome.

She was born after they discontinued Teen Spirit deodorant. That should disqualify her automatically

Indeed. I'm guessing she doesn't even know it's a reference to deodorant.

That was cool -- just wish the sound was a little better. I was just hunting around youtube to see if I could find a better clip and ran into this:
