I can't imagine any possible way that MDB would be construed as an upper. What did I miss?Originally posted by Green Lantern View PostI won't really argue with your overall point, even if I think it's a bit broadly stated. It should be pointed out that 4 of the past 7 Best Picture winners weren't exactly "uppers:" The Departed, Million Dollar Baby, No Country for Old Men and The Hurt Locker are all lacking these conventional uplifting messages you complain about. Million Dollar Baby maybe, but it's still a downer."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

Triumph of the human spirit? I don't know. I thought it was a major downer as well. Just trying to anticipate how Woot is going to back up his claim that the Academy always gives the wins to happy endings.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostI can't imagine any possible way that MDB would be construed as an upper. What did I miss?Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...
None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.
I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.
