Saw Kings Speech yesterday after Jimmer's discertation to the despondent of Suck Dog State.
I've seen 6 of the 10 Best Picture Nominees: My favorite was "The Fighter".Social Network was very well done,,,,but meh...kinda boring.
I enjoyed King's Speech. I like feel good stories when done well.
True Grit was a lot of fun. Jeff Bridges was great but Colin Firth probably deserves to win. The way he portrayed the nuances of those who struggle with stuttering was right on.
Mine too. I saw 8 of the 10, a record for me.
What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

Ok I checked in just in time to see the "If I Rise" performance. The music is an enormous part of why 127 Hours is so emotionally powerful, so I'd love to see it get some acknowledgment.
Edit: Oh, I didn't realize there was a trite Pixar song in play. Should have seen that coming.
