  • There goes my weekend

It arrived in pristine condition. My luthier friend will have it tuned up and ready to go by Friday night.

I hated to sell the Gibson V, but I've always loved the feel of strats, like the HSS, and need a guitar that fits my personality (I can't pull off the V anymore).

Shaka, creek, and others: If I wanted to swap out the factory pups, what should I go with?

I've never had a guitar "take to me" the way this one has. I know it isn't high-end, but for a mid-range axe it sure feels smooth. The neck is comfortable, the action is fast, and it sounds great.

If my Hamer is like a 59 Dodge--aggressive, but not nimble--this guitar is like a sportscar.

Cool guitar. I love a good strat. I have always favored Lollar or Fralins for single coil pickups. Both also make year humbuckers that would work in the bridge position. Unfortunately those manufacturers are both boutique brands and expensive.

I think you would be very happy with Seymour Duncans in that guitar. I use a JB Junior in the bridge position of my strats and love it. I think the full size JB would work very well for you.
