Every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings.

    1. Name the movie
    2. What is the guardian angel’s full name?
    3. How old is Clarence?
    4. In addition to being a guardian angel, what vocational skill does he possess?
    5. The guardian angel’s IQ compares to that of which myxomatotic mammal?
    6. In what year was George born?
    7. As a result of saving his younger brother, which of George’s ears suffered hearing loss?
    8. Name 3 places from whence coconuts hail.
    9. In an early allusion to his lifelong flirtation with Mormonism, George predicts that he will amass how many concubines?
    10. What illness is going down at Mrs. Blaines?
    11. Faced with a dilemma, George sees a sign on the wall that inspires him to action. What does the sign say?

    12. As an adult, George seeks to buy a fancy overnight bag. How many nights is he planning on being away?
    13. What high-ranking calling does Harry fulfill for his HS graduation party?
    14. What is Mary’s maiden name?
    15. Name their song.
    16. What 2 globally recognized tourist destinations will George visit when he sees the world?
    17. There is a needlepoint in Mary’s house. What does it say?
    18. Harry Bailey marries into some dough. What sort of job awaits him and where is it located?
    19. How much does George make a week in salary?
    20. What is home address?
    21. Sam Wainright advises George and Mary to invest in what business idea?
    22. Where are George and Mary going on their honeymoon?

    23. There is a run on the B&L. What time do the doors close?
    24. Tom is a pushy a-hole. How much money does he demand?
    25. Mrs. Davis makes a modest request for how much money?
    26. How many planes to Harry shoot down in the war?
    27. What is Zuzu’s temperature?
    28. Despite George not being a dictionary, Tommy asks him how to spell what two words?
    29. What time is it when George considers committing suicide?

    30. How long has the guardian angel been wingless?
    31. What book does the guardian angel give to George?
    32. What does the inscription in the book read?
    33. What song does everyone sing at the close of the movie?

This movie is one of the greatest movies ever made and perhaps one of the most classic cinematic examples of Americana. I know there are a lot of questions today (which gives folks a chance to catch up on the off chance that some dont bother answering), but I intentionally did this. In order to answer many of these, you have to watch the movie. I would encourage everyone to watch sometime in the next few days. This has been a really fun month of movie trivia competition and, much like George Bailey, I think we all have wonderful lives to celebrate at this time of year.

      • This looks like a great contest. I'm sorry I chose to waste spend time on other things this month, it would have been fun to participate. (Seriously, I just didn't see the thread until very late in the month.)

By the way, PAC, if, as expected, you win, there is no need to place an asterisk by your achievement, noting that I did not take part in the contest. No, no, don't thank me; it's Christmas time and I am in a gracious mood.

Answers are pouring in. One thing I did. Not calculate for the final day...how long it takes to grade submissions when you ask 33 trivia questions.

As for final standings, I can verify that thus far, a dark horse candidate has swooped into the running for top spot on the leaderboard. By dark horse, I'm talking someone that has never made an appearance on the leader board in any position. But he is legit and his presence should not be discounted. I can also verify that rickomatic is rueing the day of his Brady Bunch insolence. Will his dismissive attitude towards one of Americas cultural crown jewels cost him the crown? This is going to come down to the wire because I'm still waiting on submissions from several of the regulars.

Deadline is later this evening. Let's call it 6PM MST because I gotta hang with my peeps, yo.

You submitted one day and you were 100% on that day. In essence, that day was your Superbowl. You could not have done any better.

But I did not meet every challenge that was placed before me, unlike ... oh, never mind. The contest is a great idea. Thanks for taking the time to make it happen.

                      • I did not submit the last 3 days because I felt sorry for PAC and thought for once in his life he should win something.

Also I was waiting for It's a Wonderful Life to be on TV last night and watch it, I even started taking notes which my wife started laughing at me for and asking what I won if I got the answers right. When I realized the prize was nothing but admiration I put the notepad away and went to sleep.

I think I missed the last four. I just got too far behind and could never catch up. I won't make the same mistake next year.

                            • Alright, alright. Sorry for the delays. Hey, a guy's gotta spend some quality time with his real-life family, too!

Unfortunately, a guys also gotta flee to a quiet room until everyone leaves and goes home. But that is a story for another time, another forum.

                              Now, on to the results.

First...thanks for all that participated. We had an epic turnout for this and I was impressed overall with level of Xmas acumen we have on the board. A few of you realized your limitations and outplayed the players....you simply watched a bunch of the movies to rack up points. This was an acceptable and excellent strategy.

Second, based on feedback that I have received, there is a bit of a hunger for these trivia contests, but it has been suggested that I branch out to do some other themes throughout the year. I already have a few ideas for themes...comedies, sports, porn, etc.

Without further ado, let's get to the results.

In SEVENTH place........weighing in at over 10,000 posts, the Bay Area Masta of Disasta....the Lehi Lothario.....with a grand total of 325 points......
