and they offered me Premier package (with all movie channels) and NFL sunday ticket for and extra 2 dollars a month for the next 5 months. I asked what the catch was, he said no catch, it doesn't affect my contract and I can downgrade at any time. Anybody else get this offer and is it legit?

I didn't get the offer and I'm just taking a stab in the dark, but I'm guessing that the catch is if you forget to downgrade after 5 months your bill is going to skyrocket to high heaven with all those extra channels on it.

Well, yes, if I did this deal, I would downgrade the instant the promo was over... It sure is hard to pass up NFL sunday ticket for 2 more bucks a month!

No, did you give them my number? Of course, after this season I may no longer be a directv customer and be switching to AT&T uverse.

Direct TV contracts their sales to a whole bunch of subcontractor/vendors. They probably have their own sales force too, but they run all kinds of packages with their vendors. Each vendor gets a different package to sell, and they change constantly. DirectTV is telling you to go through the vendor who offered you the deal, because only that vendor is offering that deal right now.

Be careful. I was talked into a DIRECTV deal like that only to find out later that the sales rep either lied or was misinformed about the deal. I ended up paying way more than I was promised. They weren't sympathetic at all when I complained about it.

Well, I called them originally and they guy I talked to said that I was not part of the group offered, but I just got a call from that same number offering me the same deal, but for an additional $6 instead of $2. Now, it's too bad the 49ers still suck

Absolutely, after failing to convince my wife how much I really needed Sunday Ticket, I've been waiting/hoping for this call. I was probably the easiest sale of the night for the girl that called.
