    8-Track Mind

    It's been about half a year since I logged in here, and in that time, I've joined a band. We're a cover band playing mostly 60's, 70's, and 80's rock, although some of our members have slightly different tastes so we venture out just a little.

    We've played at a couple of church-related events, but we've grown and expanded our repertoire over the last few months since the last one. I was playing acoustic guitar and singing when we started, but we've picked up another guitarist or two and added full-time vocalists. Now I play bass, keyboards, and do some backup vocals.

    We're still looking for a paid gig at some point (mostly just to say we've done it), but we're playing a private concert and BBQ this weekend at the home of our lead guitarist. Here is the set list:

      That sounds like a fun set list. Quit hatin' on John Denver!
      Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

      None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

      I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

          The good thing about the John Denver songs is that they are so boring that we don't really need to practice them.

              I love JD! The songs you are playing are cliche though. Throw out some Grandma's Feather Bed or Looking for Space.

                      8-Track Mind is playing another concert tonight. We haven't played together since our last one until last night.

                      In the meantime, we lost one member of the band--that's the bad news. The good news is that with him leaving, we don't feel obligated to play John Denver anymore. So our setlist is shorter by 2 songs. Yee-haw!

                          Here's some "video" footage from last weekend. You can't see much because there wasn't very good lighting, but you can hear. This song didn't turn out perfect, but was not bad overall I thought.
