  • Peak of Streaming Quality - It's streaming on Paramount+ Thread

Paramount+ seems to be pushing hard for subscribers. Everywhere you look, there's someone announcing a partnership with Paramount+ that gives you a discount until the end of January. I pulled the trigger because I wanted to see Top Gun Maverick, as well as one or two of the seemingly endless parade of Star Trek shows. Anson Mount is good in Star Trek Strange New Worlds, and Star Trek Picard seems okay.

In terms of quality exclusive shows, it seems to be mixed. 1883 is a pioneer show with Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, and Sam Elliot. It's billed as a Yellowstone origin story, but it stands pretty well on its own, albeit the story ends after 1 season. Incidentally, Yellowstone is not there.

For $25 for the first year, I'm fine with it. Time will tell whether I renew later on.

I subscribed just to watch The Offer. I don't regret it.

I'm a subscriber for Champions League soccer. Haven't used it for much anything else.

I used to have it. Watched Cheers. I think they have codes each month that allow you to get it for free.

I got it bc it wasn't that much and it does have brand new movies exclusive to the service once in a while. I would have bet I was the only one who had it, but based on the responses in this thread, I think this may be everyone's DL side-piece streaming service.

1883, 1923 and Tulsa King are all great. The Offer was a fun watch. I loved the guy playing Bob Evans. So ridiculously over the top it seemed believable.

They used to be the only streamer that had Yellowstone. I feel like that put them on the map.

The first two seasons of Star Trek: Picard were quite underwhelming, but the current (and apparently final) season has been amazing. If you were a fan of TNG, I’d definitely recommend checking it out. You can skip the first two seasons if you haven’t watched already.

Mrs Diddley is a Trek Nerd, so we've been watching it. It's a little dark for my tastes, but it's been fun.

I really liked the finale on this one.

This season of Landman has been fantastic. The additions of Sam Elliot as “Pops” has really added to this cast. Most recent episode was touching. Glad to see him become a regular.

This is another winner by Taylor Sheridan.

I like Sam Elliot, and he'll be a good addition, but I'm not loving this season. You've got mostly the same characters, and they aren't really growing. The most development we got this time around was Lady Lawyer gets drunk, loses control, and morphs into Morning After Lady who aquiesces to Aromatherapy discs. I was a bit annoyed at the tagline for the episode: "A tragic crash sets off a day of reckoning for the Norris family." I was kind of hoping the crash was the company jet, but no such luck. Guess it was the truck crash they opened with and barely mentioned again. Also, Demi Moore has been mourning for the last 3 episodes. She had a great first episode and then the last two were just.. like I was waiting for her to do something. Then when she tired, and I was like, "oh, shoot, here we go," it was a big nothing. Demi Moore is too good of an actor to be wasted like this. I did really enjoy some of the soundtrack in the most recent episode. The vocalizations during the Monty cemetary scene reminded me of Vikings.
