I've noticed that too, but it's just too big a shit show to go digging through all the stuff. I have 1/100th of the tech savvy/nerd skills you have, and the few albums I've been able to cobble together took a hell of a lot longer than 1 minute. And when you start pulling from different albums/compilations to put together one whole, the compression/volume is off and that also turns into a pain in the ass. This happens on the version of Doolittle I have because, again, every song but one came from a rip of the original album, and the other one I had to dig for came from the greatest hits. They need to have someone go through and curate this thing or something because I feel like it's just people haphazardly dumping stuff in there and it's a huge mess.Originally posted by Space GhostI've noticed that when downloading songs off of grooveshark, some of the ID3 tags are a bit off... for example, album tags may be missing or incorrect.
Also, I didn't know if TQID was one of their incomplete albums, it was just the first thing that came to mind. It just seems like the majority if the time I search out an album, they have 80-90% of it. I have maybe ten or so complete album put together in my account, but it was not terribly convenient to get them there. And now one of the songs in my Bon Iver album is mislabeled and I don't want to go through the hassle of redoing it. Yeah, this is great. The quality drops on some of the songs, but I love being able to look up just about anything and play it on demand. I am working through some John Lee Hooker songs right now that I haven't heard before (tip of the day: John Lee Hooker + Carlos Santana = awesome).Originally posted by Space GhostI haven't figured out what the catch is... other than the library of content available on grooveshark is not as broad as pandora. And I only know that because of how I use grooveshark. However, you can build custom playlists on grooveshark and listen to them at will, over and over, without any monthly listening limits. I'm scratching my head too. Someday the gravy train will end I suspect.
I still listen to pandora, but I use it now mostly to build my "junk" playlist on grooveshark. This grooveshark list is big enough now - almost 200 songs - that I can load it up, turn it on shuffle, and let it play without hearing the same song twice in a (work) day. When Art first turned me onto grooveshark, I went through my main pandora radio station and looked through the history of "thumbed up" songs for that station. I then meticulously searched for those songs on grooveshark and started building a playlist that I (temporarily) titled "junk". Every time I "thumb up" a song on my pandora station, I (try to) find it on grooveshark and add it to my junky playlist. Just today I added "1234" by Feist and "Sarah" by Ray LaMontagne. (Never heard of either one of those artists before today.) However, the other week "A Celebration" by Mar popped up on my pandora station... grooveshark doesn't have that song.
FWIW.
cheers.
Come to think of it, my daughter was listening to Grooveshark the other day while doing her homework. She is one step ahead of me."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

Stevie Ray and BB King used to play together all the time. It was magic."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

10 songs.
It literally took me less than a minute to build that Smiths playlist above... or about the same amount of time you last while being teased.
(I'm here all night.)
I've noticed that when downloading songs off of grooveshark, some of the ID3 tags are a bit off... for example, album tags may be missing or incorrect. That may be why when you searched quickly for "The Queen Is Dead" content, grooveshark didn't show everything at first. But if you do some patient digging, you can find everything you need... just be patient and stop rushing things my good man!
cheers.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.
