should be in my list. My father loved watching that movie with me...I think he saw it when he was a kid.

You keep this up and people are going to start wondering if you are a dupe account that I have created.

I love this movie. I voted for The Big Lebowski above but I would put O Brother at the same level.

My kids and I can quote most of O Brother by heart. Drives my wife crazy. My son took a film class and did a term paper on O Brother. I was surprised how much I learned as I read his paper. It's genius.

I like the Jerk. I have a hard time though naming the best ever of anything. I am sure there are other comedies I have liked just as much or more, but for some reason the Jerk comes to mind first.
What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

I'll weigh in for the AARP crowd, and note that I laughed so hard during the opening credits of In Search of the Holy Grail in the '70s my wife became so embarrassed she wanted to leave. And the early Woody Allen movies were very funny--Take the Money and Run, Bananas, Sleeper, Love and Death; it was a shame when he decided to get serious.

The characters, the jokes, the music, the shows, the quotes, the clothing, the hair, etc., etc. is all perfect. "Big bottom, talk about bun cakes my girl's got 'em."
Another favorite. In recognition of my love for this movie, my sister's ring tone for me is "Big Bottom." I try to call whenever I know she's in meetings or sensitive situations.

Out Cold. This is the lamest movie ever (what do you expect from the Malloy brothers - they should stick to surf movies) but I love it. It cracks me up. It has Zack Galifianakis who is hilarious.

Superbad, Old School and Wedding Crashers are up there too. Meet the Parents is also hilarious. The original Longest Yard. MASH.

David Koechner is very underrated. His Stumpy character is hilarious. "He was all up in it. Loving it strong."

Which brings me to another movie that made me laugh quite a bit with him in it, Thank You for Smoking.
