Did no one watch Community last week?

Or in the last few episodes? This show was already pretty decent, lately it's been seriously bringing the funny. 'Modern Warfare' was one of the best episodes of any show I've seen this season, and the Goodfellas episode a couple weeks earlier was no slouch either.

An associate was talking raving about it over lunch today. He was excited enough that I may just pick up season 1 and start watching.

Ohio, let's keep this going as the official COMMUNITY thread. I've been saying for a while now that the COMMUNITY/PARKS & REC hour has been regularly topping the OFFICE/30 ROCK hour in terms of funny and that episode on Thursday was a classic.

Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

Yeah, that was fantastic. Senor Chang bringing the heat at the end was wonderful.

I stopped throwing my Community pearls before the CUF swine long ago here at the urging of DDD, who insists that nobody likes the show and it's awful.

I liked that it was chock-full of references to classic action flicks (predator, the matrix, die hard, rambo, hard boiled, scarface, 28 days later, etc etc) as well as other tv shows (friends, cheers, glee, and even the mentalist)...

...but that even if someone knew none of those references, it was still a great episode on its own.

I also think Abed is right up there as one of the best comedic characters on TV right now (in good company with Sue Sylvester and half the cast of Modern Family, IMO).

And yeah, lately Community>>>>>>>>The Office. It's really not even close. I hope they keep this momentum going. Chevy Chase isn't even all that annoying right now.

Speaking of which, my sister and I were arguing about who was better: Abed or Ron Swanson. My vote is for Swanson and she loves Abed.

                Both shows are great.

The indian guy (forget his name) gets the most consistent guffaws out of me on Parks & Rec. That show has won me over where it used to bug me.

Haverford is good, but Swanson makes the show.

I watch Community every week. Good show. I hope no one would let DDD's hate for Chevy stifle their experience. imo, the writers have done a good job with his character, never making too much of him, but using him where he is useful.

I watched the first 10-ish episodes of Parks and Rec, was very disappointed and stopped watching. I finally decided to put it back on my list of recorded shows last week, and I wasn't disappointed. I made the decision b/c I've been hearing lots of good stuff about the show on here, and the intros and outros that I have been catching at the end of Community and beginning of the Office have been quality. I may have to go back and catch up with some of the other episodes.

This is one of the great debates of our age. As much as I love Abed, I would probably have to go with Ron @#%&-ing Swanson. I mean, the guy suffers from a condition known as "sleep fighting." And he is the one and only Duke Silver.

I still think Senor Chang is the best character on that show, as little as he's in it.

That John Woo entrance last episode was EPIC.

I'd be willing to give Community another go. It grew boring and unfunny after about 3 episodes to me, but I really like Joel so maybe I'll give it another go.

I agree that Community is up there around the top of my must-see list each week. I like it better than Modern Famly because there are several characters that leave me in awe -- Abed, Chang, Jeff. I really like MF, but it hinges on Cameron and Ed O'Neill for me. 3>2.

But yes, last week's episode was amazing from start to finish.
I have nothing else to say at this time.
