    The Most Bad-Ass Sequence Thread

    As I'm riding my motorcycle into work this morning, I'm feeling pretty bad-ass. Not in a Jack Bauer sort of way, but more a Screech-with-sunglasses-and-a-Harley sort of way.

    It got me thinking about the most bad-ass sequences in movies.

    On the Harley as I was, I immediately thought of Terminator 2 and the sequence where the leather-clad governator is riding the Fat Boy, shooting a shotgun with one hand at the semi driven by one of those metallic-painted street performers from Battery Park. Iconic. Bad-ass.

    Also, the car chase from Ronin is pretty cool. I have Bullitt in my netflix queue as I hear it's got one of the all-time greats.

    But I think I'm missing quite a few that are better than any of those. Please use this thread to post your favorite iconic "wow, that's bad-ass" movie sequences. I'm trying to come up with more that I've seen but I am unfortunately not exactly a movie guy.

      I go to the scene in one of the Terminators where the Terminator is interogating a suspect while holding him by the leg out over a cliff. He tells the guy to give him the information or he will drop him. The guy gives him the information, then the terminator tells the guy he lied and drops him off the cliff. Simple, but bad ass. Obama's justice department would really be pissed with this technique.

      Of course, Dirty Harry telling the guy, "right now you are thinking to yourself................" was pretty bad ass too.

              If you don't know who Tony Jaa is, do yourself a favor and throw Ong Bak and The Protector (or better yet Tom Yum Goong - original Thai version that is 30 minutes longer) in your Netflix queue. He kicks so much ass it's unbelievable. There is a scene in The Protector I believe where Tony Jaa's character goes into this hotel with this spiraling walkway around the lobby that leads to the upper floors. The camera doesn't cut the entire time and he just goes up each level kicking ass. He does some amazing stuntwork. He'll make you say Jackie Chan who?

                          The entire movie is amazing, but particularly bad-ass are the opening 2 mins, the tracking scene with the motorcycles, and the holy of holies, the Uprising battle scene in Beck's Hill.

                                                  The first really bad ass scene I remember from a movie was John Wayne in True Grit and he took on those three guys on horseback. Others may mock but at the time that was pretty cool.

                                                      The carchase in Bullitt is pretty bad-ass. Notice how he upshifts like 16 times without ever downshifting. They don't make cars like that anymore.
