I can't for the life of me de-tag these bitches. All the information on my itunes is wiped clean, but as soon as I pull it into the folder on my desktop all the info is back.

Ah shit, now it's all out of order in my compressed folder, and I can't remember which song goes where because all the information is gone in the itunes playlist.

yeah it's delicate w/ itunes.
What I usually do is just create the playlist in the order you like.
Highlight the whole thing and drag it(copy) to a folder on your desktop as is.
Then do the detagging/numerating one by one in the itunes playlist (click "get info" or whatever that is). It goes pretty fast. (track ___ of ___)
Then drag that complete, anonymous list to yet another folder. That's what you'll compress.
