I don't like that they're carrying the same case into a second season. I also feel like the twists at the end were too much. It's starting to feel like one of those hospital shows where every conceivable thing has happened to one little group of physicians.
    Definitely a letdown.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

I love reading Sepinwall. However, it always cracks me up as to how emotionally involved he is with his shows. He honestly seems betrayed, by whoever Veena Sud is. I'm always bemused by this, as I'm not a big series watcher and rarely form some kind of emotional connection with these fictional characters. With that said, I'm sure it is how a non-sports fan would feel about many posts in the stadium and arena, mine certainly included in this category.

I laughed through that entire reivew. Damn dude, it's a TV show, you didn't just get dumped by your girlfriend.

Though I had a pretty violent reaction to the finale of Breaking Bad season 3.

I have really enjoyed Grantland so far. This isn't Simmons' best article (that would his Karate Kid masterpiece from 7 or 8 years ago), but he does seem to state how most of this show's fans feel today. At least judging by this thread and Sepinwall's article and comments

                LOL. That's a great read.

I was reminded why I hate serial shows last night. The season ends just as it's starting to get good and now we're going to have to wait until who knows when to get more of the story?

Screw that. I want to see it next week, dammit.

That bummed me out, the season finale. I like this series. I like how it is dark and methodical. I actually would have been somewhat fine if the show ended 5 minutes early. I kept thinking that there was no huge confession like other typical shows but it kind of made sense and they got their guy. But then they did what they did - confusing and rather ridiculous when you consider how easy it will be to unravel the lies.

Oh well. It will be interesting to see if next season can do anything.

The actress playing the homicide detective not only is a BYU grad, but is married to Cameron from Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Dude is about 55 years old and about 19 years older than her. WTF?
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I think I enjoyed the show more than most did. It certainly lulled in the middle, but there were portions of the beginning and end that I really enjoyed. Plus, the whole thing taking place in Seattle probably the biggest incentive for me to watch anyway. I watched Gray's Anatomy for two seasons for that reason alone. ha.

In the pilot it was mentioned that it was 26 days until the election, which is two seasons at their pace (one episode equals one day). As soon as we heard that we wondered if the murder storyline wasn't going to wrap up until season 2. I was bummed there wasn't greater finality to the season, but part of me was convinced from the beginning there wasn't going to be.

The question of finality wasn't what got me. I'd have been perfectly happy to have them never discover the killer and instead focus on the how the murder affected all of the people in its wake. I like ambiguity. But to do that requires writing and characterization that I just don't think these creators were capable of. Despite the natural desire to find out whodunit, we tuned out because the poor writing and plotting were just starting to grate.

I started to dread the few minutes of each episode devoted to Linden arguing with her fiance. I cringed at the hopelessly clueless dialogue infesting every aspect of the political subplot. I started realizing that this was just a silly show, no better than a CSI or Criminal Minds, but adorned with the trappings and pretense of seriousness that came from being in the primetime spot on AMC.

I was initially surprised that some people here are indicating that they may tune in for season 2, but then I realized that I'm just as likely to TiVo the last 10 minutes of a Law & Order rerun I'm watching because I have to go run an errand. The advantage of the latter is that it doesn't take up 13 hours that could be better spent watching something good. Also, the writing, directing and acting is generally better.

I wanted to bump this thread to ask if anyone has heard anything about when the 2nd season starts?

Edit: Never mind. I looked it up on the website. April 1st is the premier. Unless that's an April Fool's joke by AMC on all of us.

So an April 1st premiere for both this and Game of Thrones. Nice.

I can't believe this got picked up for second season. What an awful series.
