  • The Killers, only the very best.

I have an amazon gift certificate from x-mas that I haven't blown completely. I am using it on mp3 downloads, and I wanted to get some Killers tunes. But I don't want to buy all of the albums, and I only want the cool poppy stuff, like Human. Human has got to be one of the best pop songs out there right now.

Anyhow, what do people suggest? From all of the Killers albums, which are the songs that I shouldn't miss?

arent all their songs cool poppy tunes?

Hot Fuss is basically one pop tune after another.

"All these things that i've done" is one of my favorites. "I've got soul, but I'm not a soldier" sung by both Flowers and a gospel choir never gets old for me.
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Off the new CD, I think Spaceman and Dustland Fairytale are pretty good tracks.

The lyrics to Dustland Fairytale are great -- about his parents meeting, his mom, his dad's conversion.

My other favorites from the prior CDs:

All These Things that I've Done
        Read My Mind
        For Reasons Unknown
        Andy You're a Star

I think these would all fit your description:

From Hot Fuss (the whole cd is pretty much what you're looking for but these are guaranteed to be in that category)

Jenny Was A Friend of Mine
          Mr Brightside
          Somebody Told Me
All these Things That I've Done (My favorite off of this cd)
          Midnight Show

          From Sam's Town

          Sam's Town
          When You Were Young
          For Reasons Unkown
          Read My Mind

From Day and Age (this is another one where most of the cd fits your criteria, it's worth the download of the whole cd.)

          losing Touch
          Spaceman
          Dustland Fairytale
          Joyride
          This is your life

Sawdust has some good tunes too. Rhapsody is your friend.

So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Thanks for all of the help. I will start with Cardiac's picks. If they are all great, I will add SteelBlues. If those are all great, I will just download the rust of Hot Fuss. Again thank you all.

Killers are coming to Houston in May

We saw them at the Bayou Music Center and at Reliant Arena when we were in Houston.

Bayou was such a better venue. The acoustics and/or mixing at Reliant were horrible -- could barely hear the vocals at all.

They're going to be in Grand Prairie the next day. I'd drive 7 hours for Brandon.
What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

The first link is DEFINITELY NSFW due to f-bombs.

And then, the Killers do this later in the evening:

Not even the first time Liam did this at Lollapalooza.

Liam Gallagher took the stage at Lollapalooza tonight, but after reportedly performing between 15-20 minutes, he cut his set short when he suddenly walked off stage. The rest of his performance was eventually canceled. The crowd responded angrily to his abrupt departure. See reactions below. Gallagher later tweeted out an apology. “Sorry to the people who turned up for the gig in Chicago lollapalooza had a difficult gig last night which fucked my voice,” he explained.

Rumor has it that some woman had a sign at that event that said "I Love You, Noel" and it pissed him off so much he left.
