    American VI: Ain't No Grave by Johnny Cash

    I am beyond excited to hear this. These are the last recordings from the man in black, also Rick Rubin produced, released posthumously. It apparently has a pretty cool cast of players as well including the Avett Brothers. Woo hoo!

      Excellent. I didn't even realize it was released today. I've given it a quick listen and my first thoughts are that it is much better than America V: A Hundred Highways, the last posthumous Cash release by Rubin. His voice is a lot stronger. Nothing really stands out, but it will be a pleasant one to listen to. I was very happy to see the track "A Satisfied Mind" on the album. That was the song Bud was listening to while he was waiting for Beatrix on KBII.

          Which volume of American Recordings has Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers as the backup band? I need to pick that one up (as well as this new one.)
          Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

          None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

          I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

                  The album is great but all the songs focus on death. It is seems exceptionally weighty and heavy even for Cash. But still great.

                          American V was like this too. It was recorded around or shortly after June's death.

                                  One song that is distinctively Petty and the HB is Sea of Heartbreak. This song would have fit on the Wildflowers album perfectly and you can even hear Tom give his count leading into the song as well as the background vocals.

                                  Spritual and The One Rose have a nice Mike Campbell sound, and Benmont Tench brings it in Kneeling Drunkards Plea.

                                      I think the unearthed box set has some Petty-accompanied stuff as well
