Yes, major nerd alert, I know.
Back in the summer of 2000, I broke my leg at work. This is about a month after my oldest daughter was born, and my wife quickly became fed up with my inability to help around the house. She left and went to stay with her mom for a month, ostensibly to show the new baby, but actually because she was pissed I had the nerve to let somebody else break my leg.
(She has since apologized).
My brother had great pity on me, but more importantly, he had a Playstation (no "one" or "x" moniker back then). He loaned me his console and games, one of which was Final Fantasy VII.
For a month, I worked full time and played FFVII full time (and started to get fat too). I was amazed with the storyline, gameplay, etc. I was hooked. That particular game, of course, has long been lauded as one of the all-time greats, and I found myself really ensnared by that style of RPGs. In retrospect, I think I was comfortable admitting I liked it because, unlike my days in HS (when I wouldn't touch anything so ineffably nerdy), I had already proven myself capable of procreation in theory and in fact.
Since then, I've played just about all of the FF series, old and new, in one form or another (my favorites are VII, VIII, X and X-2).
I was prepared to make XII my last, since I'm not going to fork over for a PS3 anytime soon. But not only does XIII come out next month, it comes out for 360.
Am I the only uber-nerd on here? Am I the only one that will be grabbing this thing on March 9?
