    Anyone an Edward Gorey fan?

    He's one of my favorite illustrators and I'm pleased to see that some of his books are coming back in print. I tried to use this as a bedtime book for my daughter but my wife nixed it.

    Also, my mom gave me a calendar featuring The Doubtful Guest for Christmas and you'd be amazed how many conversations it starts when people see it in my office.

    Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

    None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

    I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

      Hell yes! I got his calendar a couple years ago -- and I have long been tempted to buy the, what is it, Dracula theatrical miniature? I like what he had to say about being a person "undersexed" when asked if he was gay or straight. I completely relate to that. Did he ever work in color? Everything I've seen has been black & white.

                  I'd never read much about his personal life. That's a great quote.                   I've never seen anything in color by him, except for maybe the covers to some of the John Bellairs books he illustrated. (They were favorites when I was younger and were probably the first Gorey work I encountered)
