What is the instrument in the top right of this set that is a ball connected by a metal pipe to the rectangular piece? I know exactly what it sounds like, cannot for the life of me think of the name.

Most high school boys I know have played the vibraslap

Meh. The vibra-slap is for losers. A percussive uni-tasker. Unique but no depth.

Now the chekere in the picture, that's a real cool instrument. I've seen a guy in a master class do things with the chekere that would blow. your. mind.
