How would you rate RH as a live band? They seem like a band that would be great in a small venue but kind of boring in a big stadium.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View Post

Lucky is right. I hate you.
I wonder if they'll play any of the new songs they're recording? I know they've resisted so far, but since they're in the middle of a session maybe they'll go for it.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Probably the same way everyone else rates them!Originally posted by Art Vandelay View PostHow would you rate RH as a live band? They seem like a band that would be great in a small venue but kind of boring in a big stadium.
Small venue is not their thing (though this benefit show will be). Open-air is the way they roll.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I'm curious to see what the average ticket price for this thing is going to end up being. There are celebs that are going to throw out major $$$ for this thing. Hell, when Thom played with his new band in LA regular people couldn't even get in because Celine Dion (wtf?), Barbra Streisand (wtf?), Neil Diamond (wtf?), and Madonna (wtf?) were forking over major dollars to buy the tickets. And that wasn't even a benefit show.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I have seen them in various settings: smaller venues (The Wiltern for The Bends and OK Computer, Roseland Ballroom for Kid A), mid-sized (Santa Barbara Bowl for Kid A/Amenisiac, San Diego Ampitheater for Kid A/Amnesiac and HTTT) larger venues (Hollywood Bowl for Kid A/Amnesiac, HTTT, In Rainbows, Coachella...just because).Originally posted by Art Vandelay View PostHow would you rate RH as a live band? I have never been bored at any of these shows. I think they are very exciting live, but I love their music. One of my favorite aspects of their live shows is simply watching JG set up and play various instruments. Also, the band has such a broad catalog of non-LP material that part of the anticipation of each show is wondering which rarity they will play for you that night. There are fan sites that actually break down each tour and every song that was played, as well as the frequency of any song they have ever played and the chances of hearing it live at any given show.
Radiohead in LA (as well as in NY) is always an event because celebs come out of the woodwork to be seen there. I have seen celebs ranging from Brad Pitt and Ed Norton to Alicia Silverstone all the way down to perhaps the oddest sighting at a radiohead show...Tom Gugliotta.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

This is my concern. I am likely going to be priced out.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostI'm curious to see what the average ticket price for this thing is going to end up being. I have noticed that the ticketmaster auction is in US dollars. There doesn't seem to be a place to wager alternative forms of currency.....small children, for example.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostI have confidence that none of those people will outbid you.Fitter. Even if I am "in," I have an extra ticket. Hopefully I will be able to unload it.
If you lived down here you would be "in."Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Strange to see Faust Arp lead off, but great set nonetheless and they really mixed it up among various albums pretty well. The only mildly annoying thing is that Thom played the exact same version of Lotus Flower from a couple months ago. I get the solo version at the last show, but if you're working on it as a band, and the full band is there, let's hear it! Though they seem to be keeping the new songs pretty under wraps...01: Faust Arp
02: Fake Plastic Trees
03: Weird Fishes/Arpeggi
04: The National Anthem
05: Nude
06: Karma Police + reprise
07: Kid A [percussion intro]
08: Morning Bell
09: How To Disappear Completely [Ondes martenot intro]
10: A Wolf At The Door. (It Girl. Rag Doll.)
11: The Bends
12: Reckoner
13: Lucky
14: Bodysnatchers
15: Dollars And Cents
16: Airbag [defeated Just in an audience vote]
17: Exit Music (For A Film)
-Encore 1-
18: Everything In Its Right Place [Thom solo on piano]
19: You And Whose Army?
20: Pyramid Song
21: All I Need
-Encore 2-
22: Lotus Flower [Thom solo with guitar]
23: Paranoid Android
24: Street Spirit (Fade Out)So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.
