    Lady Gaga

    I am going to venture that I am not the first person to draw the connection between Lady Gaga and another reasonably unattractive pop star of some 20-ish years ago who also made a living on raw and shocking sexuality and bizarre outfits. Does this mean she will also turn into the Cryptkeeper in 20 years?

    I ask about her mostly because I have only recently been made aware of her existence and wonder why she is (apparently) so popular. I am having a hard time seeing how she is not the modern version of Madonna. Actually, I think that may be the answer to my wonder.

    Also, I am officially nominating her for the Barbra Streisand Memorial Hottest Ugly Chick award for 2009.

    Her personality is weird but she actually does have some catchy toons and an okay voice. In particular, I'm rather fond of "Bad Romance" right now.

      Lady Gaga is great for accidental T&A, cleavage, and bizarre outfits as everyday wear.

      She is bit hit with the paps as she loves telegraphing her schedule, she is always wearing something crazy, and she has a ridiculous stage name.

      There are always (literally every single day) Lady Gaga pics coming off the wire. there are some funny ones out there.

      I am neutral on her music. I am more entertained by her schtick.

                    Her 2nd performance on SNL a couple of months ago changed my view of her. It was pretty good.

                      I was going to ask about LG.

                      My friends are hosting a new years party. The theme is "Lady Gaga." What the heck does that mean? What's a "Lady Gaga" party? Does it mean we all get to dress super skanky and show lots of skin? Or we just get to bring a paparazzi along?

                      I have to admit I'm totally lost on this one.

                          I think it means that at the party you're going to just dance and it'll be OK.
                          What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

                              I recently heard that she writes all her own music. She's had a number of big hits in her short-ish career,so that's something.

                              I also recently heard she's a hermaphrodite. I'm going to ask her next time she's in my office.
