    Seven Samurai

Funk and I are watching it for the first time. It's excellent, if unbearably slow at points.

Any discussion of themes and characters is welcome!

I just watched it a week ago. I thought the end was perfect. I'll not spoil it and comment when you finish.

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

Thanks! We have about 50 minutes left, so if you're still on, I'd like to hear your thoughts.

I might have to pick it up tomorrow. It's kinda late here and I'm fading fast.

The ending is perfect, as you said. The scene at the very end with the juxtaposition of the happy, singing villagers and the four samurai graves is brilliant in its economy and visual impact. I thought on how indifferent the villagers were to the samurai as soon as there was no more danger.

That's the best I can do on my BlackBerry for now.
