    Has anyone else experienced..

an autofax calling your house incessantly?

For the last 90 minutes or so, every 2-3 minutes, a fax machine from American Honda Corporation has been dialing my home number. It showed up on my caller ID as being from American Honda Corp. so it wasn't difficult to figure out. I ignored it and didn't answer the first 4 or 5 times, but then I finally picked it up thinking it would make the fax machine dialing my number stop calling. But no. It continued. I went to pick up my kids up from school and when I got back, the auto fax had called my house 17 times while I was gone.

I just got off the phone with the US Honda headquarters in Torrance, CA in an attempt to find out what's going on. The first time I called, I asked the person who answered if there was anyone I could talk to about the problem and she seemed to not know what I was talking about. I tried to explain again and she put me on hold without saying anything. I called back and someone else answered, but told me that they knew nothing about autofaxes and hung up. I called again and got the first person who answered, and she yelled at me that prank calls would be reported to the police and hung up.

I'm tempted to call again now, just to piss off whoever answers the call, but that won't help my problem. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem once, except the caller ID just gave me the phone number and no name. I googled the number and came up with some bank. I dialed their main number, but of course they had no idea what to do with my complaint. It went on for a day and then stopped, thankfully.

Hook up a fax machine and see what's coming through. They probably just want to send the fax once, and once it connects, it will probably go away.

Then again, that might put you on their list of "spammable" fax numbers.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

That's not a bad idea. But I'd rather yell at someone for filling up my voice mail with messages that are nothing more than fax sounds.

I am sick of it, as well. Every evening I answer the phone and hear the same message:

Greetings, friend. Do you wish to look as happy as me? Well, you've got the power inside you right now. So use it. And send one dollar to Happy Dude, 742 Evergreen Terrace, Springfield. Don't delay! Eternal happiness is just a dollar away.
          Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

An autofax would just as easily dial a cell phone number.

I had what was apparently a defunct construction company's old number so I'd get sales leads via fax--which I found out when I hooked up a computer to receive the faxes. I sent various replies varying in creativity until I was removed from all lists.
